Richie Aprile
Richie Aprile Richie Aprile 2

Actor David Proval plays the role of Richie Aprile. Richie Aprile and Jackie April were brothers. Height was not to his advantage, but that had never been his problem. The courage to carry out what he intended to do and his impulsive behaviour was more than enough to make those who wanted to mess with him to think twice. However, this mincing character of his, was more that enough to send him to prison. He was sentence to ten years in prison.

When Richie’s term in prison was up he was released from the Rahway Prison. Nevertheless, the programs that were made available to him in prison did not help him. He was the same as ever, well, to some degree, he was worse.

To back up his reputation he was in possession of a leather jacket. This leather jacket he had taken off of the guy who had the reputation of being tougher than his counterparts in Hudson Counties and in Essex. This jacket had belonged to Rocco DiMeo.

While Richie was away from the action within the mob organisation, many charges took place. One of which included Tony Soprano becoming the boss of the organisation. These changes were not sitting well with Richie. Then to throw insults upon injuries so to speak, Tony was not giving him what he believes he deserved. To say the least, Tony was not his favourite person so at every turn they were in a confrontation with each other.

Finally Richie had enough and so he decided that it was time for him to take Tony out. In order to do that he would need some help, because if the boss of the mob were to be taken out, the repercussion would be tremendous. So he asked Tony’s uncle, Junior to help him to carry out his plan. At first Junior agreed to help him, but when he considered his options, he decided that it was best to take Tony’s side. He chanced his mind and instead of backing up Richie with his plan Junior told Tony what Richie was planning. In return, Tony decided to take Richie out before he could get to him.

On the romantic side, Richie was involved with Tony’s older sister, Janice. As a matter of fact, they were engage to be married. One evening as Richie and Janice were in the kitchen, they were arguing over whether or not Richie’s son Richard JR. was gay. In the end the argument ended with Richie punching Janice in the face. Well, that was not the end, because after that punch, Janice, without any warning went for the gun and pumped two bullets into his chest.

Since killing Richie was Tony’s intention and his sister had killed him before he did, he took care of “getting raid” of the body.

David Proval was born on the 20th May 1942 in Brooklyn New York. Some of the other films that he has appeared in are, The Shawshank Redemption, Mean Streets and Everybody Loves Raymond.
