Phil Leotardo Phil Leotardo

Actor Frank Vincent plays the role of Phil Leotardo. Johnny Sack is Phil’s boss and he also has a brother named Billy.

In the 1980s Phil was sentence to twenty years in the penitentiary. After his release from prison, he went back to where he had left and that is the New York organisation of the Mafia. Carmine Lupertazzi Sr. was in charged, but shortly after Phil’s released, Carmine Sr. suffered a stroke that killed him.

With Carmine Sr. out of the picture the fight for whom was going to be the next boss of the New York organisation begun. It was Johnny Sack against Little Carmine, who is also Carmine Sr.’s son. Phil was behind Johnny Sacks. Since this was a war, a few lives were taken and one of those lives was Angelo Garepe. Angelo was standing behind Little Carmine. Philip, Billy and Joe Peeps carried out the killing.

Tony Soprano, the boss of the New Jersey Mafia organisation and Tony Blundetto, better known as Tony B are cousins. Tony B. had spent several years behind bars and while in the penitentiary Angelo Garepe was his cellmate and the two became friends. So when Tony B. found out about Angelo’s death, he lost it and went after his killers. He killed Billy, Phil’s brother. Phil saw read and demanded that Tony Soprano handed him over. He also made it known that he was going to torture Tony B. before he killed him.

Tony protected Tony B. from Phil and Phil, still seeing red went after some of Tony’s people. So in order to protect Tony B. from a torture death and to prevent his men from being attacked, he did what he thought was the best thing to do under the circumstances. Tony took him out himself.

Shortly before this was done, the FBI arrested Johnny Sack and so Phil was now the acting boss. Even though Tony B. was dead Phil was still not happy, because in his eyes Tony had robbed him of the opportunity of killing the person who had killed his brother. Nevertheless, to a certain degree there is peace between the two.

As time passes, Phil and his crew killed Vito Spatafore who was a member of Tony’s crew. Therefore in retaliation Tony blow up one of Phil’s businesses. With things the way it was between the two Mafia organisations Little Carmine tried to bring this war to an end, but he did not succeeded. So Phil and his men decided to take another route. They decided to take out Tony Soprano. Phil was not for killing Tony, but Butch DeConcini was. Before any action was carried out though Phil was rushed to the hospital as a result of a heart attack. While he was in the hospital Tony visited him requesting that peace reign between the two businesses once more.
